The sales applications engineering process is automated through industry-specific, internet-based engineering software. Customers input their data into the website, and the software generates quotes, proposals, and follow-ups automatically. This allows the Sales Application Engineers to concentrate on providing the best product solutions for customers. Within fifteen minutes of data submission, potential customers receive quotes and proposals, eliminating the need for travel. The primary responsibilities of the role include:
- Spending 30% of the time on the phone, handling twenty to twenty-five calls daily
- Applying engineering knowledge to understand and address customer needs
- Investigating and solving customer problems
- Utilizing software throughout the sales process
- Analyzing customer requirements and presenting appropriate alternative proposals to the sales team
- Communicating effectively using telephone, email, and virtual platforms
Experience in combustion is beneficial for this role. Furthermore, the successful candidate should possess the following qualifications:
- A Bachelor's Degree in mechanical engineering
- At least five years of mechanical engineering experience
- An enjoyment for engaging customers via phone communication
- A strong mechanical aptitude
- Two or more years of experience in industrial sales
- A consistent and reliable work history
- Being a US citizen or holding a Green Card
- Residing within a 45-minute drive from the Richfield area
