Mechanical Asset Integrity Engineer
Are you a creative problem-solver with a drive for innovation and hands-on mechanical work in an industrial environment? We're seeking a skilled Mechanical Asset Integrity Engineer who thrives on overcoming challenges, enhancing operations, and delivering projects that improve performance and efficiency.
In this exciting role, you will play a crucial part in managing equipment installations, facility modifications, and ensuring the smooth operation of our plant's mechanical and hydraulic systems. Your leadership will be instrumental in driving projects from conception to completion, collaborating closely with contractors and cross-functional teams to meet budget goals and surpass expectations.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Work collaboratively with the Maintenance Department to troubleshoot and optimize mechanical and hydraulic systems throughout the facility.
- Champion continuous improvement initiatives for plant equipment, identifying opportunities and implementing enhancements.
- Apply your extensive knowledge of large baghouse systems to ensure seamless operations and compliance.
- Create comprehensive specifications for project bids, evaluating contractors and negotiating contracts.
- Estimate project timelines, create schedules, and oversee projects to ensure on-time and within-budget completion.
- Liaise with contractors, equipment suppliers, and internal stakeholders to ensure the success of projects.
- Support the Director of Steelmaking Technology on specialized projects and initiatives.
- Lead various projects, with potential travel required both locally and internationally.
- Maintain strict adherence to all safety regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Foster a collaborative and cohesive work environment, collaborating effectively with colleagues at all levels.
- Demonstrate consistent attendance and performance, taking on additional responsibilities as required.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience: A minimum of 10 years' experience in mechanical engineering, with a strong background in the steel or heavy industry. Knowledge of environmental practices is advantageous.
