As a Critical Care Nurse, you will have an essential role in delivering top-notch care to patients in the intensive care unit. Collaborating with a diverse team of healthcare professionals, you will assess, monitor, and manage patients with complex medical conditions. Your expertise in critical care nursing will have a significant impact on ensuring positive patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients upon admission and during their stay in the ICU.
  • Meticulously monitor vital signs, oxygen saturation, cardiac rhythms, and other pertinent parameters.
  • Identify and promptly respond to changes in patient condition.

Treatment and Medication Administration:

  • Administer prescribed medications, intravenous fluids, and blood products.
  • Ensure effective pain control and provide comfort measures.
  • Assist with various procedures, including intubation, central line placement, and chest tube insertion.

Collaboration and Communication:

  • Work closely with healthcare professionals such as physicians, respiratory therapists, and pharmacists.
  • Effectively communicate with patients and their families, providing education and emotional support.

Documentation and Record Keeping:

  • Maintain meticulous and accurate electronic health records (EHR).
  • Thoroughly document assessments, interventions, and patient responses.

Critical Thinking and Problem-Solving:

  • Analyze complex patient situations and make informed decisions.
  • Anticipate potential complications and take preventive measures.

Quality Improvement and Safety:

  • Actively participate in quality improvement initiatives.
  • Follow strict infection control protocols and safety guidelines.


  • Education and Licensure:
  • Hold a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or an Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited program.
  • Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) in California.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in critical care or medical-surgical nursing.
  • Previous ICU experience is preferred.


  • Hold a valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Possess an Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.


  • Demonstrate strong assessment skills and the ability to prioritize care.
  • Excel in communication and teamwork.
  • Proficient in using electronic health record systems.

Salary Range:

The salary range for this position is approximately $125,000 to $160,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
