Our client, a well-known AmLaw 100 firm, is in search of a skilled Tax Associate Lawyer to join their Affordable Housing and Tax Credit Practice Group. This presents a remarkable opportunity for a lawyer interested in handling intricate tax matters in a collaborative and dynamic environment while supporting both for-profit and nonprofit developers in affordable housing transactions.
Candidate Profile:

Hold a Juris Doctor (JD) degree from a prestigious law school with a commendable academic record.

Must possess an active Bar Admission in any US state and maintain a good standing status.

Have 2+ years of substantial experience in partnership tax, with a preference for experience in federal income tax credits.

An LL.M. degree in Taxation is highly preferred.

An undergraduate degree in Accounting is also preferred.

Demonstrate a strong technical knowledge of tax structuring, compliance, and transactional matters related to affordable housing and tax credit financing.

Possess outstanding writing, analytical, and communication skills with great attention to detail and follow-through.
Key Responsibilities:

Provide legal advice to clients on complex tax matters concerning affordable housing developments, including Low-Income Housing Tax Credits (LIHTC), Historic Tax Credits (HTC), and New Markets Tax Credits (NMTC).

Structure, negotiate, and draft legal documents for tax-related aspects of real estate transactions, such as partnership agreements, syndications, and financing arrangements.

Conduct thorough tax research and analysis to assist clients in compliance with regulatory requirements.

Collaborate with other practice groups, including real estate, corporate, and finance attorneys, to ensure comprehensive client service.

Engage in direct client interaction and support business development initiatives within the tax credit and affordable housing sector.
