Our company is a well-established manufacturer of specialty machinery used to create plastic parts. We are currently seeking a Mold Design Specialist to join our team at our location in Tecumseh, MI.

Job Description:
Position Summary:
The Mold Design Specialist will be responsible for analyzing assigned Order Sales Sheets (OSS) and Change Notices (CN) to understand the engineering content and impact. They will execute the design accordingly and provide daily progress updates to the Mold Design Engineering Working Lead. The Mold Design Specialist will ensure that design and configuration work complies with production release standards and meets cost, quality, and timing requirements.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Design molds and conduct basic design reviews for blow molding.
- Interact with the quality department and purchasing department to ensure that quality standards and delivery deadlines are met.
- Stay up to date with technical skills by attending training classes and special technical courses as needed.
- Provide daily updates to the Mold Design Engineering Working Lead.
- Ensure that customer requirements are clearly understood, drive closure on open requirements, and verify that requirements are satisfied.
- Identify risks, document them, prioritize them, mitigate them, and communicate them effectively.
- Establish timing plans to execute assigned orders and projects.
- Perform any other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Proven record of solving complex technical issues in a structured manner.
- Proficient with CREO, Windchill, and E1 software.
- Relevant experience with mechanical analysis and tolerance/fit analysis.
- Ability to identify technical risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
- Strong communication skills, including the ability to provide detailed information in a concise manner and tailor communications to different audiences.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Experience working in multiple design phases, including development, production, and sustaining.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Teams and Microsoft Power Point.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related discipline, or at least 3 years of equivalent design work experience.
