Position Summary:

The MRI Supervisor will have the responsibility to oversee the operations of the MRI department, ensuring efficient and high-quality service. They will manage personnel matters, equipment maintenance, and regulatory compliance. As a liaison between internal and external stakeholders, they will ensure customer satisfaction and handle any concerns or issues.

  • Supervise the MRI department for inpatient and outpatient services in the Orange location, focusing on service excellence and stakeholder satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with the MRI Manager in managing human resources-related requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, policies, and procedures, as well as State and Federal regulations.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service by addressing and resolving satisfaction or service concerns.
  • Operate MRI equipment proficiently and provide instruction to others.
  • Perform a range of advanced procedures that require independent judgment and clinical expertise.
  • Show initiative in taking on new responsibilities and learning new procedures.
  • Perform any other duties as required.

Required Qualifications:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English for effectively explaining technical MRI concepts, active listening, persuading, advising, and counseling.
  • Certification in Venipuncture.
  • Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot equipment issues and software malfunctions to contact the appropriate service personnel.
  • Must possess RDCS certification from the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography or RCS certification from Cardiovascular Credentialing International.
  • Availability for on-call rotation and weekend rotations.
  • Minimum of three (3) to five (5) years of recent MRI experience in an Adult Acute Care Facility.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for effectively working with diverse patient populations and demonstrating sensitivity.
  • In-depth knowledge of MRI equipment to operate and monitor the relevant technology.
  • Demonstrated subject matter expertise in MRI and the ability to apply principles to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills in training and guiding employees on radiology modality techniques.
  • Ability to solve problems and suggest solutions within defined procedures and policies through critical thinking.
  • Effective prioritization skills to meet deadlines in a complex, challenging environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related area and/or equivalent experience/training.
  • Required BLS certification.
  • Flexibility to work variable shifts, including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Organizational skills to manage staff and unit operations efficiently.
  • Ability to adapt and work effectively in a constantly changing environment.
  • Capability to establish and maintain collaborative working relationships with physicians, researchers, radiology technicians, and other clinical staff.
  • Certification by the ARRT.
  • AART-MRI certification.
Ideal Candidate
Experience of 3-5 years in a level 1 trauma center, although not mandatory.
Prior experience in an academic hospital environment.
Leadership qualities, even without holding a formal leadership title.
Excellent and thorough communication style.
