  • PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Reporting to the MRI Supervisor, this position involves performing various MRI procedures under general supervision.

    DUTIES AND TASKS:

    1. Ensure patient comfort and safety while preparing and positioning individuals for MRI procedures, adhering to specific requirements for each procedure.**

    2. Determine the most suitable method for acquiring adequate data for each anatomical part.**

    3. Prepare opaque media for different procedures.

    4. Administer contrast media as necessary for patient procedures.**

    5. Practice sterile techniques and maintain universal precautions when required.**

    6. Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the work area.**

    7. Process film when needed.**

    8. Employ safety measures in areas with strong magnetic fields.

    9. Attend all mandatory educational programs annually as required by the position.

    10. Deliver age-appropriate care to neonate, infant, children, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.

    11. Understand and demonstrate the importance of addressing customer/patient needs by providing friendly and compassionate interaction, being attentive to their psychological and physical needs, and maintaining communication to ensure a secure and pleasant experience.

    EDUCATION:

    ARRT certification in Radiologic Technology is mandatory

    NYS license in Radiologic Technology is preferred.

    MRI certification required within one year of hire date.

    NYS license to inject contrast media required within six months of hire.

    EXPERIENCE:

    Minimum of one year of experience as a radiologic technologist. Preferably, one year of MRI experience.

    CARDIOPULMONARY RESUSCITATION (CPR) REQUIREMENTS:

    Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 90 days of hire.

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

    Some physical effort required, including lifting light objects and occasional reaching and stooping.
