MSE Wall Superintendent
Job Description
- Oversees the execution of assigned construction projects and facilitates communication between field engineering, estimating, and workforce to ensure that the project adheres to contract drawings and specifications.
- Develops strategies for the completion of project work by determining work methods, required materials, equipment needs, and work schedule. Collaborates with direct reports to review and adjust the daily work schedule, and provides input for updating the weekly/monthly schedule based on project progress.
- Familiarizes themselves with the project specifications in order to support the setup of the job site. Works with work crews, field engineers, and local utility companies to identify any potentially hazardous areas on the project site.
- Present the production work plan during the initial project meeting to ensure that all project crews and leaders are well-informed and aligned.
- Coordinates with the internal equipment team and external vendors to ensure that the project is properly equipped with the necessary equipment and materials to complete the work within the assigned budget and timeline.
- Proactively forecasts the work schedule to anticipate any potential issues and provides technical or scheduling recommendations to address any production challenges.
- Provides technical expertise to identify and resolve project risks, including construction methods, work plan and material requirements, safety measures, and scheduling activities. Documents daily activities and meeting notes using the Company's approved document template.
- Collaborates with internal and external departments to ensure that all required inspections are completed within the specified timeframes.
- Promotes and enforces strict adherence to safety protocols and process controls, particularly regarding the operation of equipment, worksite safety, and documentation requirements.
- Supervises the production and workforce of subcontractors assigned to the project work. Makes recommendations for adjustments to the work schedule or work methods in relation to subcontractor activities, as needed.
- Coordinates the closeout activities of the projects in accordance with project standards and the Owner's checklist requirements.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in heavy civil construction, including roads, bridges, marine projects, or tunneling. At least 3 years of management experience is required.
