NERC CIP Cyber Security Technician

Location: Newington, NH

Major Duties & Responsibilities

This role primarily focuses on the implementation of cyber security processes for a power generation facility in Newington, NH. Reporting to the Sr. Director of Operations, the position will work independently to manage patching, monitor network status, and maintain NERC CIP compliance. Additionally, it will involve conducting security analysis of OT Control Systems and addressing cyber security vulnerabilities. This position also requires working with dedicated software programs to ensure NERC CIP compliance.

Supportive assistance to other Company facility locations may also be required.

Position Requirements –

• Evaluate, track, and patch cyber assets in accordance with NERC CIP compliance policies.
• Carry out asset security verifications following change management authorizations.
• Stay up-to-date with communication protocols and operating system technologies.
• Collaborate with other teams to troubleshoot IT/OT systems.
• Offer support for NERC-CIP Audit and CIP Spot Check.

• Assist in performing Cyber Vulnerability Assessments at Medium Impact facilities.
• Collect information related to ports, services, software, and user accounts in industrial control devices.
• Cultivate good working relationships with multiple teams across the enterprise.
• Ensure proper document control across multiple entities.
• Meet critical program requirements and deadlines.
• Exhibit excellent work ethic, ability to work independently, and complete tasks in a timely manner.
• May require travel or remote work as necessary.

Education/Experience Required

Experience-

• Bachelor's degree in technical discipline or equivalent experience
• Minimum of three years of experience in industrial electronic controls and operational technology
• Knowledge of generation plant controls is a plus
• Familiarity with NERC-Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) Standards is a plus
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Proficiency in network tools such as Wireshark, nMap, and NPView, or similar tools
• Knowledge of industrial control systems such as GE Mark V, Mark VI, and Siemens T3000, or similar systems used in power generation is a plus
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and Visio
