NERC CIP Cyber Security Specialist

Main Responsibilities & Duties
This role focuses on ensuring the cyber security of Low and Medium Impact Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) and non-CIP Operational Technology at a power generation facility in Newington, NH. The position will report to the Sr. Director of Operations and will work independently to implement cyber security processes, including managing patches, monitoring network status, and configuring operations environment. This role will also be responsible for completing NERC CIP Standard deliverables and conducting security analysis on OT Control Systems to identify patching levels, prevent malicious software, and address cyber security vulnerabilities.
Furthermore, this position will require utilization of dedicated software programs to fulfill NERC CIP compliance requirements.
The role may also involve providing support and subject matter expertise at other Company facility locations.
Role Requirements –
• Assess and patch cyber assets in compliance with NERC CIP policies and change management protocols.
• Verify asset security following change management approvals.
• Stay updated on communication protocols and operating system technologies.
• Collaborate with other teams to troubleshoot IT/OT systems.
• Support NERC-CIP audits and CIP spot checks as directed.
• Assist in performing Cyber Vulnerability Assessments at Medium Impact facilities.
• Compile lists of ports, services, installed software, and industrial control device accounts.
• Build strong working relationships with multiple teams across the organization.
• Maintain proper document control across multiple entities.
• Meet critical program milestones and deadlines.
• Possess strong work ethic, work independently, and complete tasks promptly.
• Willingness to travel and work remotely as required.
• Compile lists of ports, services, installed software, and industrial control device accounts.

Education/Experience Requirements
Experience-
• Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of three years of experience in industrial electronic controls and operational technology.
• Knowledge of generation plant controls is advantageous.
• Familiarity with NERC-Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) Standards is a plus.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in network tools like Wireshark, nMap, and NPView, or similar.
• Familiarity with industrial control systems such as GE Mark V, Mark VI, and Siemens T3000, or others commonly used in power generation, is advantageous.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and Visio.
