Job Overview:

We are in search of an experienced Manufacturing Data Integration Specialist who excels at SQL, has a deep understanding of API calls, and possesses extensive knowledge of manufacturing systems, specifically PLC integration. The chosen individual will play a crucial role in connecting our manufacturing systems, databases, and business intelligence platforms to ensure seamless data flow and integration across the organization. We are looking for someone who can collaborate effectively with the engineering, IT, and production teams to develop robust data solutions that enable real-time monitoring and informed decision-making.

 

Key Qualifications:

· This role involves active engagement on the plant floor and requires the ability to effectively communicate with plant floor personnel. A vibrant and outgoing personality is ideal for this position.

· Prior experience in a manufacturing environment is an absolute must!
· A background in finance or banking is not suitable for this data integration role.
  • SQL Development & Database Management: Utilize complex SQL queries to extract and manipulate manufacturing data from different databases (such as SQL Server and MySQL) to support production reporting, analytics, and business intelligence.
  • API Integration & Development: Develop and maintain APIs that seamlessly integrate manufacturing systems (e.g., PLCs, SCADA) with enterprise data platforms, ensuring real-time data flow for monitoring and reporting purposes.
  • PLC Integration: Collaborate with the production team to integrate PLC systems (such as Siemens and Allen-Bradley) with centralized data storage or cloud platforms to enable real-time data monitoring and system control.
  • Data Quality & Validation: Ensure the accuracy and integrity of the data collected from manufacturing equipment and processes by implementing validation and error-checking protocols.

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Manufacturing Data Systems: Assist in the design and implementation of data solutions that support production systems, including real-time data acquisition, visualization, and reporting dashboards.
  • Troubleshooting & Support: Identify and resolve issues related to data connectivity, API failures, and PLC integration in production environments.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with IT, engineering, and production teams to gather requirements, implement system enhancements, and ensure that manufacturing data is available for analysis and operational decision-making.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Create system architecture documentation, API workflows, database schemas, and integration process documents. Provide regular reporting and updates on the status of data integration projects.

 

 

Skills & Qualifications:

 

  • Technical Skills:
    • Proficiency in SQL including writing complex queries, stored procedures, and optimizing database performance.
    • Experience with API development (REST, SOAP, or similar technologies) and integration with third-party systems (such as ERP, MES, SCADA).
    • Knowledge of PLC systems (e.g., Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Mitsubishi) including data extraction and integration into enterprise-level data systems.
    • Familiarity with industrial protocols (such as Modbus, OPC) for PLC and sensor communication.
    • Understanding of manufacturing systems (e.g., MES, SCADA) and their role in production operations.
    • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and their data integration services is a plus.

 

 

  • Experience:
    • A minimum of 3 years of experience in a technical role involving data integration, manufacturing systems, or industrial automation.
    • Proven experience integrating manufacturing systems (including PLCs) with databases or business intelligence platforms.
    • Familiarity with real-time data systems and the need for low-latency data.

 

Soft Skills:

  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in manufacturing environments.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across different departments and explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to handle high-pressure situations and ensure minimal downtime during critical system integrations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Industrial Automation, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with IoT applications and data collection from industrial devices.
  • Knowledge of data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) for manufacturing-related reporting.
  • Experience with PLC programming and understanding of industrial control systems.
