Overview

Join our team as a Nurse Coordinator for the Nighttime Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) in San Luis Obispo, CA. In this role, you will work closely with the Department Manager and Director to ensure the coordination and provision of nursing care to patients during specified shifts. You will supervise and delegate responsibilities to nursing and ancillary personnel, promoting best practices and professional nursing conduct. We offer a competitive salary of $110,000 - $160,000 per year, a $30,000 signing bonus, full benefits, and paid relocation.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Department Manager and Director to plan and coordinate nursing care on specified units and shifts
  • Supervise and delegate care responsibilities to nursing and ancillary personnel within their scope of practice
  • Promote the use of best practices in patient care delivery
  • Facilitate Lean Daily Management activities
  • Work collaboratively with leadership to promote professional nursing practice and behavior

Requirements

  • Minimum of two years of previous NICU experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • BSN
  • RNC
  • Previous charge nurse experience in an acute care setting
  • Strong analytical and grammatical skills
  • Organizational and multi-tasking abilities
  • Fluency in spoken and written English
  • Ability to fulfill essential functions of the position

Job Description

  • Graduation from an accredited nursing program
  • California Registered Nurse License upon hire
  • National Provider BLS - American Heart Association upon hire
  • National Provider NRP - American Academy of Pediatrics upon hire
  • 1 year of nursing experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • National Certification in area of specialty upon hire

Ideal Candidate

  • California Registered Nurse License
  • Availability to work weekends and holidays as needed
  • National Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) card from the American Heart Association
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification from the American Academy of Pediatrics
  • At least 1 year of recent experience working as an RN in the NICU department of an accredited hospital
