Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Emergency Department Nurse Manager to lead two Emergency Departments within a premier healthcare organization. This leadership role focuses on driving uncompromising quality, outstanding patient and family experiences, and a culture of patient safety.
The Nurse Manager fosters an environment of staff development, empowerment, and collaboration, ensuring the delivery of compassionate, efficient, and fiscally responsible nursing care. This role includes oversight of the Emergency Departments, Hospital Clinical Leaders, and the Medic 55 ALS Program. Responsibilities also include strategic planning, staff recruitment and retention, orientation and continuing education, and fostering interdisciplinary communication across departments.
Qualifications:
Education:
-
Graduate of an accredited Registered Professional Nurse Program.

Master's Degree in Nursing or a related field required.
Licensure:
-
Current NYS Registered Professional Nurse License.
Certifications (Minimum Requirements):
-
BLS, ACLS, and PALS certification through the RQI system during clinical orientation.
-
Basic Coronary Care within 6 months of hire.
-
CPI certification within 90 days of hire.
-
TNCC certification required within 18 months of hire.

Preferred: Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) certification within one year.
Experience:
-
Minimum of 3–4 years RN experience.
-
At least 18 months of Emergency Department RN experience.
-
Preferred: 1 year of management or leadership experience.
Skills:
-
Moderate sedation competency within 6 months of hire.
-
Strong interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with patients, families, physicians, and staff.
-
Proficient in management systems and process improvement.
-
Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to inspire and direct teams toward organizational goals.
-
Strong analytical skills to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate department needs.
-
Experience with project management, multitasking, and meeting deadlines.
-
Knowledge of The Joint Commission standards.
-
Computer literacy required (Word processing and spreadsheets).
-
Preferred: Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Meditech.
