A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced nurse to join our rapidly expanding Emergency Department (ED) team. With our recent expansion and redesign, our ED now boasts 12 new beds, a rapid assessment and special care unit, a red zone, and an expanded imaging department, all conveniently located near the ED. As the Emergency Department Nurse Supervisor, you will oversee a unit of over 78 beds, providing care for an average of 230 patients daily with varying acuity levels.

Your responsibilities will include:

· Leading the development, implementation, and evaluation of unit/departmental goals, policies, and procedures to ensure the highest standard of care and support the strategic plan and care delivery model. Collaborating with the Director to evaluate service area outcomes.

· Coordinating and facilitating service area activities to ensure optimal unit functioning. This includes assigning, directing, and reviewing the work of subordinate supervisors and nursing staff, establishing work methods and procedures, maintaining quality and quantity standards, and managing staffing and scheduling to achieve unit objectives.

· Utilizing aggregate data to make operational decisions and drive improvements in care delivery efficiency.

· Assisting the Director with budget preparation and resource allocation. Taking appropriate action to ensure operations stay within approved budgets and reporting budget variances as necessary.

· Encouraging staff participation in problem identification and improvement initiatives, as well as supporting the implementation of changes in response to the evolving healthcare landscape.

· Assessing, planning, directing, and evaluating educational and professional development programs for the assigned area or program to enhance patient care.

· Facilitating effective communication among staff and management team members to promote customer satisfaction and service efficiency.

· Ensuring operational compliance with professional practice, licensure, accreditation, and regulatory standards.

· Implementing and evaluating the unit's Performance Improvement/Risk Management/Safety Program.

· Demonstrating a commitment to continuous training and education, including role-specific requirements and competencies.

· Maintaining knowledge and adherence to relevant regulatory requirements such as The Joint Commission, Title 22, and Cobra.

· Taking the lead in employee engagement and people management processes, including recruitment, performance evaluations, employee development, retention, and disciplinary actions.

· Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma, High School Equivalency (HSE), or Completion of Approved Individualized Education Plan (IEP) Certificate required
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) OR other healthcare-related Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • Demonstrated expertise in Emergency Department nursing and leadership ability required
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in the healthcare industry or a healthcare setting required (preferably in Emergency)
  • Prior leadership experience in the healthcare industry or a healthcare setting required (preferably in Emergency)
  • BLS - Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification required (American Heart Association preferred)
  • RN - Current and valid Registered Nurse license to work within the state of California required

SKILLS AND CERTIFICATIONS

  • Active CA RN License
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or healthcare-related field
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in an Emergency setting required
  • At least 2 years of leadership experience (supervisor level or above) required

Salary: $165,000.00 - $215,000.00 per year
