Nurse Manager (Med Surg)

Salary: $145,000 - $183,000 + Annual Bonus + Relocation Assistance

Summary:

We are currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced Manager to oversee our Medical Surgical Unit at our Murrieta, CA location. The ideal candidate should possess strong leadership abilities, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to delivering high-quality patient care. As the Manager, you will be responsible for managing the daily operations of the unit, ensuring efficient patient flow, and promoting a positive and collaborative work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Leadership and Administration:
  • Provide effective leadership and guidance to the nursing team.
  • Oversee the daily operations, ensuring smooth patient flow and optimal resource utilization.
  • Cultivate a collaborative and supportive work environment.
  • Mentor and develop nursing staff, fostering professional growth.
  • Implement and maintain quality improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and hospital policies.
• Clinical Expertise:
  • Maintain a high level of clinical expertise in medical surgical nursing.
  • Ensure the delivery of safe and effective patient care.
  • Evaluate patient outcomes and address any concerns raised by patients or staff.
• Administrative Responsibilities:
  • Manage staffing schedules to ensure adequate coverage.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.
  • Participate in budget management and resource allocation.
  • Utilize computer systems for data entry, reporting, and communication purposes.
  • Accurately perform calculations involving proportions, percentages, BSA, circumference, and volume.
• Communication and Collaboration:
  • Effectively communicate with patients, families, physicians, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Maintain confidentiality of patient information.
  • Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Analyze problems, gather data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
• Attention to Detail and Accuracy:
  • Demonstrate a high level of attention to detail and accuracy in all aspects of work.
  • Maintain confidentiality and function effectively in a high-volume environment.
  • Possess a solid understanding of English, grammar, and punctuation.

Requirements:

• Minimum of two (2) years of recent experience in medical surgical nursing.
• Previous experience as a charge nurse or supervisor in a medical surgical setting is preferred.

Minimum Education:

• Bachelor's degree in nursing or a related field from an accredited college or university is required.
• Master's degree in nursing or a related field from an accredited college or university is preferred.

Licensure / Certifications:

• Current California Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• Basic EKG/tele interpretation experience or completion of a Basic EKG class within six months of employment.
