JOB TITLE: Registered Nurse (RN) - Medical-Surgical, Intensive Care Unit (ICU), Emergency Room (ER), Family Birth Suites

Qualifications:
• Current Kansas RN license required
• Completion of an Associate Degree of Nursing (ADN) or equivalent program from a two-year college or technical school
• Six months to one year of relevant experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Working Hours and Compensation:
• This is a full-time position, working three nights a week from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM. Every other weekend and rotating holidays required.
• Salary range: $30 to $49 per hour, depending on years of experience. Candidates with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) qualification will receive a salary increase. Shift differentials: $2.00 per hour for evenings, $2.50 per hour for nights, $2.70 per hour for weekends.
• Comprehensive benefits package including sign-on/relocation bonuses of $5,000 for a one-year commitment or $10,000 for a two-year commitment, and $5,000 per year in tuition reimbursement.
Responsibilities:
• Provide general nursing care to patients in a hospital healthcare facility, performing the following duties:
• Utilize AIDET communication techniques in daily interactions with patients, visitors, staff, and other departments.
• Greet visitors and escort them to their intended destinations.
• Collaborate with the Charge Nurse to assign appropriate patients. Obtain bedside handover from outgoing RN or LPN and acquire a unit telephone.
• Update and maintain the patient's White Communication board.
• Perform a thorough head-to-toe assessment on all assigned patients and promptly document findings in the electronic chart.
• Monitor patients throughout the shift, document any changes, and promptly notify providers when necessary. Keep the Charge Nurse or House Supervisor informed of patient updates. Monitor telemetry and communicate patient changes to the Special Care Unit. Monitor lab and test results.
• Conduct hourly rounds, coordinating with assistive staff, documenting as required, and providing patient education.
• Administer prescribed medications using approved nursing techniques and the Med/Verify system.
• Administer treatments as directed by physicians in compliance with nursing standards and policies.
• Educate patients and their families throughout the shift, documenting all educational activities in the electronic flow chart.
Additional Information:
This facility is a not-for-profit acute care hospital with fewer than 50 beds. The target nurse-to-patient ratio is 5:1, which may be adjusted to 3-4:1 until the census grows. Depending on patient load, an additional nurse or certified nursing assistant (CNA) may be assigned to work with you.
