Salary Range: $200,000 - $250,000 + Performance Bonus + Sign On Bonus & Relocation Assistance Available!

This position offers a work schedule of 11am - 7pm.

This role oversees the delivery of nursing services and ensures safe patient care in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) department. The manager is responsible for ensuring that nursing standards of practice, service priorities, performance measures, and strategic objectives are integrated and add value across the continuum of care.

The NICU department has a total of 49 beds with an average census of 30+. It is staffed by approximately 141 employees. This role is one of four nurse managers who oversee the NICU department, each working a different shift with some overlap. The nursing manager may also provide coverage for the pediatric unit and pediatric intensive care unit (PICU) as needed.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Provide 24-hour management and oversight for the delivery of nursing services and safe patient care, ensuring compliance with cost, quality, and clinical standards.
  • Establish and maintain patient care and service standards to meet the expectations and needs of members and internal clients. Hold staff accountable for providing high-quality care in compliance with relevant regulations and requirements.
  • Collaborate with nursing leadership to develop strategic and business plans that integrate services across the continuum of care. Continuously evaluate and improve all clinical practices, services, and operations within the assigned department.
  • Budget for and allocate human and material resources, monitor financial performance, and implement cost-reduction strategies.
  • Ensure appropriate staffing levels and competency of department staff through recruitment, training, and ongoing development.
  • Develop and implement departmental policies and procedures that align with organizational goals and ensure compliance. Establish standards of care and practice and oversee fiscal management and quality improvement activities.
  • Address and resolve human resource and risk management issues.
  • Promote an organizational culture of safety and ensure adherence to safety standards and guidelines.
  • Participate in leadership committees and forums at the medical center, regional, and national levels.
  • Minimum five (5) years of relevant clinical nursing experience, including three (3) years of management or leadership experience.
  • Academic degree in nursing (Bachelor's or Master's degree).
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • BSN and National Health/Nursing Administration Certification or MSN are required for PICU and NICU departments in CCS-certified facilities or those seeking CCS certification.
  • Registered Nurse License (California).
  • Basic Life Support certification.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience with electronic medical records.
  • Master's degree.
  • National Certification in specialty.
  • BSN and RNC-NIC certification.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $220,000.00 - $255,000.00 per year
