  • The Rehabilitation Specialist plays a vital role in promoting the wellness and overall well-being of residents through the delivery of high-quality therapy services.
  • Applicants must possess an occupational therapy license specific to the state.

Responsibilities:

  • Administer prescribed occupational therapy treatments based on physician's orders and establish regular communication with physicians.

  • Maintain accurate documentation, including evaluations, progress notes, MDS records, and discharge summaries, for residents enrolled in the occupational therapy program.

  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to address the unique needs of residents and facilitate rehabilitation and function maintenance.

  • Contribute to the Resident Care Planning meetings and attend in the absence of the Director of Occupational Therapy.

  • Keep statistical records of residents' treatments and progress.

  • Assist with in-service training programs as requested.

  • Maintain and update residents' care plan.

Qualifications:

  • Completion of an approved occupational therapy program is required.

  • Must possess a state license to practice occupational therapy.

  • Preferably have two years of occupational therapy experience.

  • Interest in developing and implementing occupational therapy programs for geriatric and subacute populations using a collaborative approach.

  • Ability to provide guidance and direction to others is essential.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are necessary.

  • Must possess a sense of responsibility and the ability to work effectively with residents, families, and colleagues.

  • Must demonstrate maturity, diplomacy, and the ability to foster positive relationships.

  • Ability to interact compassionately with geriatric and chronically ill residents, as well as collaborate with other professionals, is crucial.

  • Must consistently perform tasks to the highest standards of excellence.
