Implements specialized therapeutic activities in adherence to physician's instructions; maintains necessary communication with physicians.

Keeps detailed evaluations, progress notes, MDS records, and discharge summaries for residents in the therapeutic activities program.

Collaborates with other healthcare professionals to address specific needs of residents and support rehabilitation or maintenance of function.

Participates in Resident Care Planning meetings and substitutes for the Director of Therapeutic Activities when absent.

Maintains accurate statistical records of resident treatments.

Assists in conducting in-service training programs upon request.

Updates and maintains resident care plans.

Completion of an approved therapeutic activities program is mandatory.

New York State license for therapeutic activities practice is necessary.

Preference for two years of experience in therapeutic activities.

Interest in providing therapeutic activities for the elderly and subacute populations using a collaborative approach.

Ability to lead and guide others is essential.

Effective verbal and written communication skills are required.

Must possess a sense of responsibility and work well with residents, families, and colleagues.

Maturity, diplomacy, and the ability to work harmoniously with others are valued qualities.

Must be able to interact with geriatric and chronically ill residents and professionals in a friendly and supportive manner.

Must consistently perform tasks to the highest standards.
