What we're seeking:
•Candidates must hold a Bachelor's degree in rehabilitation therapy.
•Current registration with the American Rehabilitation Therapy Association is a must.
•Must be licensed within the State of Montana.
Working hours and compensation potential:
•This position is for the day shift.
•Salary ranges from $33.50/hr to $40/hr, with full benefits and the possibility of relocation/sign-on bonuses.
Your responsibilities:
•As a Rehabilitation Therapist, you will conduct diagnostic evaluations and administer treatments to assigned patients. Your goal will be to help them reach their maximum potential and ensure they can use the skills they've learned to function within the community to the best of their abilities.
•You will also provide comprehensive evaluations and documentations for your patients, following departmental standards and procedures. Additionally, you will offer consultation on topics like environmental design, adaptive equipment, proper patient positioning to prevent contractures and splinting, both to other agencies and healthcare settings.
•Maintaining accurate and timely patient records and reports is crucial to your role.
•You will design and implement treatment programs to enhance patients' functioning levels. This will involve therapeutic exercises and activities aimed at improving or maintaining strength, range of motion, and fine-motor coordination. You will instruct patients in adapted techniques and the use of adaptive equipment for various self-care skills such as meal preparation, dressing, feeding, and home management. Furthermore, you will train patients in the use of upper-extremity prosthetic devices to regain their previous daily routines and participate in home assessments.
•Therapy for neurological integration will be provided, including sensor-motor integration treatment techniques and visual perceptual-motor remediation programs. You will use various activities to enhance patients' developmental levels. Moreover, you will design and provide individualized therapy for adult patients with learning disabilities.
•You will be responsible for designing and fabricating specific splints as prescribed by doctors, as well as slings and adaptive equipment to meet the needs of patients and their families.
•Administering treatment programs for traumatic brain-injured patients will be part of your role. This will involve using activities to improve judgment skills, reality orientation, and organizational skills.
•You will provide preventive therapy to maintain functional skills, including instructing patients in energy conservation, joint protection, safety techniques for sensory loss, and proper transfer techniques to avoid back strain. You will also educate patients' families on personal care for patients.
•Conducting activities to assess patients' organizational skills, attention spans, cognitive abilities, coordination (both fine and gross-motor), and adaptive-equipment needs will be part of your duties.
•Designing home programs and instructing patients or their families on implementing these programs will also be expected.
•As part of the team, you will participate in patient support groups with other team members.
•Additionally, you will provide evaluations and develop personalized care plans.
