  • This position will be specifically staffed in the REHAB unit.

  2. Registered Occupational Therapist certification required.
  3. Must have a valid Occupational Therapy license for the state.
Responsibilities -
  • Execute skilled occupational therapy treatments as prescribed by physicians and ensure regular communication with physicians.

  • Maintain accurate written evaluations, progress notes, MDS records, and discharge summaries for residents participating in the occupational therapy program.

  • Collaborate with other healthcare staff to address specific needs of residents and enhance their rehabilitation or maintenance of function.

  • Contribute to Resident Care Planning meetings and attend in the absence of the Director of Occupational Therapy.

  • Keep statistical records of residents' treatments.

  • Assist in conducting in-service training programs whenever required.

  • Record and update residents' care plan.

Qualifications -

  • Completion of an approved occupational therapy school is mandatory.

  • State license for practicing occupational therapy is required.

  • Preferably, two years of experience in occupational therapy.

  • Interest in implementing occupational therapy treatment programs for geriatric and subacute populations using a collaborative approach.

  • Strong leadership skills are essential.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities are necessary.

  • Maturity, diplomacy, and the ability to work well with others are highly valued qualities.

  • Sense of responsibility and the ability to establish positive interactions with residents, families, and staff members are essential.

  • Ability to work compassionately with geriatric and chronically ill residents, as well as with other professionals, is required.

  • Demonstrated ability to perform tasks with utmost excellence.

  • This role involves regular interaction with residents, coworkers, visitors, and supervisors. To ensure a safe work environment for all parties and facilitate effective communication, the employee must have intermediate or advanced proficiency in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding the English language.
