Implement effective occupational therapy treatments as per physician's orders; maintain regular communication with physicians.

Keep accurate written records such as evaluations, progress notes, MDS records, and discharge summaries for residents in the occupational therapy program.

Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to address the special needs of residents and improve their rehabilitation or maintenance of function.

Participate in Resident Care Planning meetings, and act as a representative in the absence of the Director of Occupational Therapy.

Maintain statistical records of residents' treatments.

Assist in providing in-service training programs as needed.

Update and maintain resident care plans.

Must have graduated from an accredited occupational therapy school.

Hold a valid state license for practicing occupational therapy.

Preferred experience of at least two years in occupational therapy.

Interest in utilizing a team approach for occupational therapy treatment programs focused on the geriatric and subacute populations.

Ability to provide guidance and direction to others.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Must possess a sense of responsibility and work well with residents, families, and colleagues.

Ability to demonstrate maturity, diplomacy, and effective collaboration.

Capable of interacting positively with geriatric and chronically ill residents and other professionals.

Ability to perform assigned tasks to meet established standards of excellence.
