Job Title: Director of Operational Excellence

Company Overview: A thriving healthcare platform is currently operating in the rapidly growing Medical Spa Category. The founders have successfully launched and developed leading healthcare businesses in urgent care and veterinary care. The Medical Spa Category combines elements of day spas and plastic surgery/dermatology, offering medical-grade aesthetic services supervised by healthcare professionals (doctors and/or nurses). This sector, with its market value of approximately $20 billion, is experiencing an annual growth rate of 12-15%, driven by the widespread acceptance of aesthetics and the desire of consumers to improve their appearance. Overview of the Position: As the Director of Operational Excellence, your role will involve initiating, leading, and executing strategic projects that drive operational excellence and align with the goals and priorities of the organization. This includes successfully launching new locations and initiatives. Your ability to manage scalable projects with excellence and a sense of urgency will be crucial in this role.

Primary Responsibilities:

Operational Excellence:

  • Create and implement a management system that facilitates the execution of priorities, initiatives, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Develop and establish scalable business models, frameworks, and processes to ensure operational excellence, enhancing both effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Define key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure operational effectiveness and track progress towards set goals.
  • Lead continuous improvement efforts to enhance overall operational performance, streamline workflows, and minimize unnecessary steps.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and innovation to drive operational excellence within the organization.

Project Management:

  • Lead strategic projects, including the successful launch of new locations, from inception to completion.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to develop launch plans, which include conducting market and customer analyses, competitor research, and devising effective go-to-market strategies.
  • Create project plans, establish timelines, and allocate resources strategically to ensure successful project execution and achievement of desired outcomes.
  • Coordinate and manage cross-functional teams and external partners to ensure timely project deliverables within set budgets.
  • Monitor project progress, identify risks and issues, and implement necessary strategies for risk mitigation, ensuring projects stay on track and within defined scope.
  • Analyze post-launch results and implement improvements based on insights gained, striving for continuous enhancement for future launches.

Communications and Talent Development:

  • Develop and implement effective communication and training programs to facilitate successful adoption of business models, frameworks, and processes.
  • Provide leadership, mentorship, and coaching to the team, fostering a culture of operational excellence.
  • Promote a continuous learning and improvement culture within the organization.

Stakeholder Management:

  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders such as senior leadership, studio teams, project teams, and external partners.
  • Regularly communicate with stakeholders, providing updates on project status, operational performance, and the progress of launch initiatives.
  • Act as a trusted advisor, offering insights, recommendations, and strategic guidance to inform decision-making and drive business growth.


  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, operations management, project management, or a related field (master’s degree preferred).
  • Demonstrated experience in developing business models, frameworks, and process tools that enable operational excellence on a large scale.
  • Experience in multi-site, multi-state healthcare is essential.
  • Proven project management skills, including the ability to lead complex projects successfully from initiation to completion.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to extract insights from analytics for improved decision-making and continuous improvement.
  • Exceptional communication skills, including experience in creating formal communication plans to drive adoption. Formal change management training is advantageous.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse cross-functional teams and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Experience in launching new sites and services (de novos).
  • PMP, Six Sigma, or other relevant certifications are considered an advantage.
