Qualifications:
• Successful completion of a basic Operating Room Technician Program. Certification as a Surgical Technician (CST) is required.
• Completion of Basic Life Support Heartsaver (HS) level within the first three (3) months of employment is necessary.
• Preferably, at least one year of experience in general surgery.
Working Hours and Compensation:
• This is a full-time position with a schedule from Monday to Friday, 6:45 am to 5:15 pm, with on-call rotation.
• Compensation ranges from $29.50 to $45.50 per hour, based on experience.
• Full benefits package offered, including relocation assistance of up to $5,000.
Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with the Registered Nurse in the Operating Room, performing the duties of an Operating Room Technician.
• Adhere to the Standards of Practice outlined by the Association of periOperative Registered Nurses (AORN).
• Manage supplies and equipment under the direction of the Registered Nurse.
• Foster teamwork and effective collaboration with physicians and personnel from other departments.
• Develop a comprehensive understanding of the purpose and operations of Perioperative Services, and exhibit sound judgment to make decisions when necessary.
• Demonstrate knowledge regarding the location, care, and usage of all equipment and supplies related to the Operating Room.
• Ensure maintenance of a sterile field at all times.
• Perform room turnovers and assist with instrument washing when time permits.
• Change bed linens on patient stretchers during procedures.
• Assist with routine housekeeping tasks such as defrosting the refrigerator.
• Aid perioperative staff in patient transfers and alleviating restlessness.
• Plan tasks and procure necessary equipment for surgical cases.
• Fulfill all other duties typically assigned to an OR Tech.
