As the Senior Oracle Apps Database Administrator, you will be responsible for administering Oracle e-Business Suite (EBS), Oracle database, Oracle middleware, and related environments. You will collaborate with other DBAs, integration SME, security teams, infrastructure teams, project managers, change management team, and internal IT teams.


This role is based at our client's headquarters in Reston, VA, located approximately 30 minutes west of Washington, DC. The company offers a flexible, hybrid work schedule.

  • You will be responsible for installing, configuring, securing, performance tuning, backing up, restoring, patching PostgreSQL, MySQL, and Oracle Databases.
  • Perform database administration tasks for Oracle EBS Applications, including patching, cloning, implementing backup and recovery strategies, upgrading, and optimizing performance.
  • Act as a liaison between the functional/technical teams and infrastructure teams.
  • Ensure the stability and performance of Oracle Applications production instances and proactively update system capacity and resources.
  • Utilize Oracle EBS R12 Applications DBA utilities to maintain and manage the multi-node e-Business Suite environment with shared file systems.
  • Use Oracle Application Manager (OAM) and Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) Grid Control for proactive monitoring and system status notification.
  • Administer WebLogic/SOA Suite environment and drive Single Sign-On implementation using Oracle Identity Management and similar technologies.
  • Administer the Oracle Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) Suite and Oracle WebLogic Server to support Oracle ERP system integration with legacy systems.
  • Establish and adhere to departmental operating procedures related to governance, project management, software lifecycle management, change management, and application controls.
  • Provide oversight on application topology solutions and enhancements in the Oracle technology space.
  • Ensure compliance with database policies and standards, develop new SOPs for Oracle EBS application software installation and configuration, and recommend upgrades as necessary.
  • Evaluate security issues in Oracle EBS and make recommendations for disaster recovery plans and upgrades.
  • Perform code and patch migration from non-production to production environments following company policies and procedures.
  • Create and update technological documentation.
  • Ensure adherence to internal service management, ITIL guidelines, and internal SLAs.


  • You must have at least 5 years of experience in Oracle EBS Administration, with a preference for 10+ years of experience.
  • You should have at least 5 years of experience in managing Oracle databases, including 19c. Additional experience with MySQL and PostgreSQL databases is a plus.
  • Experience with one or more of the following technologies is desired: Oracle WebLogic Administration, Essbase, Hyperion, OBIEE, Autosys, Informatica.
  • Familiarity with cloning, Oracle Recovery Manager (RMAN), and Data Guard for backup and disaster recovery in a Linux operating system.
  • Ability to evaluate user requests/requirements, architect technology solutions, and implement them using best practices.
  • Strong automation mindset and coding skills in tools such as Ansible, Bash, or other modern programming languages.
  • Ability to effectively communicate the value of recommended approaches and solutions to stakeholders.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science (or equivalent); or 3 years of experience and a Master's degree in Computer Science (or equivalent).
  • You must be local to the Reston, VA area or willing to relocate with company assistance.
