Paralegal/Legal Assistant – Real Estate (53125)

Our esteemed client, a blossoming law firm located in the heart of Austin, is actively seeking a meticulously detail-oriented and exceptionally organized individual to join our dynamic team as a Real Estate Legal Support Assistant or Paralegal. The chosen individual will play a pivotal role in assisting with various land development entitlements processes, encompassing zoning, platting, permitting, economic development, land use planning, due diligence review, and title and survey review. It is imperative that the successful candidate possesses an astute comprehension of real estate law and transactional procedures, in addition to being proficient in the following:

Key Responsibilities

Serve as a primary point of contact for our esteemed clientele, promptly responding to inquiries regarding pre-closing, closing, and post-closing matters, keeping clients updated, and fostering lasting client relationships.

Maintain an efficient tracking system to monitor payments and closing documents associated with closings, diligently following up with title companies and relevant parties to retrieve any outstanding funds or documentation.

Prepare, compile, and transmit closing binders, along with the necessary closing documents and corresponding correspondence, while ensuring meticulous indexing as required.

Aid in the client billing and invoicing procedures, meticulously overseeing billable hours and expenses, and guaranteeing that precise and timely billing statements are produced and dispatched to clients.

Assist clients and client project teams in analyzing the existing site entitlements and determining the requisite entitlements for proposed projects in various jurisdictions across the vast State of Texas.

Conduct thorough research on properties, encompassing a review of zoning regulations, plats, surveys, site development plans, ordinances, land use regulations, and relevant title documents that impact land development.

Prepare engaging PowerPoint presentations, exhibits, and conduct comprehensive research using online City GIS and other tools, to deliver impactful presentations at public hearings.

Prepare and collaborate with local government agencies, elected and appointed officials, and dedicated staff members to handle the submission and processing of permit applications.

Maintain a commendable billable hour requirement of 100-115 hours per month, following the first 90 days in the role.

Demonstrate exceptional organizational abilities, deftly prioritizing workflow and adeptly managing projects.

Exhibit the capability to perform effectively with minimal or no supervision, delivering results within established time limits and ongoing deadlines.

Possess meticulous attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in all tasks and assignments.

Display proficiency in comprehending and adeptly operating within municipal, county, and other governmental processes and protocols.

Requirements/Qualifications

Acquire a proven track record that encompasses at least 5 years of hands-on experience in Real Estate transactions/law.

Exhibit proficiency in utilizing the Microsoft Office Suite.
