JOB OPENING: BIOTECHNOLOGY PATENT AGENT

We are currently seeking a talented Patent Agent to join our esteemed law firm. As a key member of our team, you will have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge technologies in the life sciences sector. This role is available in either Atlanta, New York, or Philadelphia.

Desired Candidate Profile:

• The ideal candidate should possess a graduate degree in a biological science, with preference given to those with a background in molecular biology, biochemistry, immunology, or genetics.

• A PhD in a relevant field is highly preferred.

• Admission to the patent bar is a requirement.

• We are looking for individuals with 5+ years of experience in patent prosecution, specifically in the life sciences field.

• Strong academic credentials and excellent references are essential.

• Experience in IP diligence, IP-transfer commercial transactions, and strategic IP business counseling is highly valued.

• This position requires an entrepreneurial spirit and the ability to contribute to business development initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with our team in patent prosecution, including drafting and responding to office actions.

• Offer strategic IP business counseling to clients within the life sciences industry.

• Conduct due diligence for mergers, acquisitions, and licensing deals involving IP assets.

• Work with our attorneys and scientists to develop comprehensive intellectual property strategies.

• Support IP-transfer commercial transactions and negotiations.

• Stay updated with the latest patent laws and regulations.

We offer highly competitive compensation within a salary range of $125,000 - $175,000, based on experience.
