An internationally renowned law firm, ranked among the top 50 AmLaw firms, is seeking a Patent Examiner with a minimum of two years of experience in the fields of computer science or electrical engineering. This position offers the flexibility to work from various locations and entails an exciting role focused on cutting-edge technologies.

Profile of the Ideal Candidate:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science.
• Minimum of two years of experience in patent preparation and prosecution.
• Advantageous to have experience in data science, machine learning, artificial intelligence, wireless communications, sensors, semiconductors, Internet of Things, or related fields.
• Excellent technical and writing skills.
• Exceptional attention to technical details, strong organizational abilities, and effective communication skills.
• Proficiency in using Microsoft Office software.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with inventors and attorneys to prepare and process patent applications in emerging technology areas.
• Identify inventions through technical discussions with inventors.
• Conduct novelty and clearance searches to distinguish inventions from existing technologies.
• Create comprehensive patent applications and negotiate the scope of patent rights with the Patent Office.
• Prepare reports and supporting documentation for patent portfolio management.
