Patent Clerk - IP Patents
Location: Atlanta, GA | Charlotte, NC

An international law firm ranked in the top 50 is seeking a skilled and knowledgeable Patent Clerk with expertise in computer science or electrical engineering. We have openings available in both our Atlanta and Charlotte offices, and we may also consider remote candidates for part-time positions on a case-by-case basis.

Profile of the Ideal Candidate:

• Preferably holds a Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science.
• Experience or strong interest in data science, machine learning, artificial intelligence, wireless communications, sensors, semiconductors, the Internet of Things, or related fields.
• Possesses excellent technical and writing skills.
• Must be motivated and eager to pursue a career as a licensed patent agent with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).

Main Responsibilities:

• Provide assistance to attorneys, patent agents, and inventors in the preparation and prosecution of patent applications focused on emerging technologies.
• Undergo training to effectively identify inventions through technical discussions with inventors.
• Create comprehensive patent applications.
• Prepare reports and documentation to manage patent portfolios.
