Patent Specialist - Intellectual Property (IP) Patents
Location: Atlanta, GA | Charlotte, NC

A prestigious international law firm's Intellectual Property – Patents Group is seeking a highly skilled Patent Specialist with expertise in computer science or electrical engineering. This position is available at our Atlanta or Charlotte offices, and we may consider remote candidates for part-time opportunities on a case-by-case basis.

Qualifications:

• Preferably a Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science.
• Experience or passion for data science, machine learning, artificial intelligence, wireless communications, sensors, semiconductors, Internet of Things, or related fields.
• Excellent technical and writing abilities.
• Driven individuals aspiring to become licensed patent agents through the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).

Responsibilities:

• Assist attorneys, patent agents, and inventors in preparing and prosecuting patent applications focused on emerging technologies.
• Undergo training to identify inventions through technical discussions with inventors.
• Create comprehensive patent applications.
• Generate reports and support documentation for managing patent portfolios.
