Summary:
- The Supervisor has overall responsibility for managing and supervising all Patient Access employees. This includes providing Meditech training for all ADM users, including those in decentralized Access areas. The Supervisor also handles various quality assurance tasks to ensure the accuracy and compliance of work performed by the Patient Access staff in relation to payer and regulatory requirements. Additionally, the Supervisor fills in for open or vacant shifts when necessary. The Supervisor consistently demonstrates and promotes the values of the Healing Environment in all interactions, collaborating effectively with other hospital departments and external customers. The Supervisor is responsible for contributing to the achievement of department and organizational goals.

Essential Job Functions:
- Developing schedules and ensuring adequate staffing to meet departmental needs. Assisting with staffing when needed and participating in an on-call rotation. Handling payroll processing.
- Regularly monitoring productivity and work quality to ensure the achievement of individual and team goals. Conducting focused reviews as required.
- Aiding in the development and maintenance of policies, procedures, and tools to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
- Verifying daily census to ensure accuracy of statistics.

Monitoring and correcting duplicate medical record numbers and insurance errors that delay claims processing. Providing feedback, training, and identifying opportunities for process improvement.
Experience:
- Minimum: Prior experience in a medical office, comprehensive knowledge and understanding of the revenue cycle and accounts receivable, familiarity with medical terminology including CPT and ICD10 coding, previous experience in cash collections and balancing, strong communication skills, and consistently accurate data entry/typing. Preferred: Supervisory experience, training experience, process improvement skills, employee scheduling expertise, ability to conduct staff meetings and participate in committees or work groups. Experience in conducting employee evaluations and at least three years of experience in Patient Access and/or Patient Financial Services.
- Minimum: Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a complex, multi-entity, culturally diverse health system. Able to manage projects, work well under pressure, meet deadlines, prioritize multiple tasks, and promote teamwork through effective role modeling. Excellent leadership, interpersonal, communication (written and verbal), analytical, and organizational skills. Ability to interact professionally and courteously with the public. Proficient in computer skills including word processing, spreadsheets, and power point presentations.
- Preferred: Proficiency in Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Familiarity with State and Federal Regulatory requirements and JCAHO standards. Bilingual proficiency.
