  • We are seeking candidates with previous management or supervisory experience to lead and expand our Patient Access Department.

  • Strong leadership abilities are required for this role.

  • Experience in medical billing/coding is desirable, while previous experience in patient access or registration would be advantageous!

  • Location: Geneva, NY and/or Penn Yan, NY (New York State's beautiful Finger Lakes Region)


  • The Supervisor has the responsibility for overseeing all Patient Access employees, their duties, and responsibilities. They are also accountable for providing Meditech training to all ADM users, including the decentralized Access areas. The Supervisor performs numerous quality assurance duties to monitor and ensure the accuracy of the work performed by the Patient Access staff, in compliance with payer and regulatory requirements. The Supervisor may need to cover open or vacant shifts when required. They consistently demonstrate and model the values of the Healing Environment in all interactions. Additionally, they work collaboratively and effectively with other hospital departments and external customers to contribute to the achievement of all department and organizational goals.

Essential Job Functions:

  • The Supervisor is responsible for preparing schedules and ensuring adequate coverage to meet departmental needs. They may also work in the staffing pattern as necessary and rotate on-call shifts. Additionally, they are responsible for processing payroll.
  • The Supervisor systematically monitors productivity and the quality of work to ensure that individual and team goals are met. They conduct focused reviews as required.
  • The Supervisor assists in the development and maintenance of policies, procedures, and other tools to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
  • The Supervisor is responsible for daily census verification to ensure the accuracy of
  • census statistics.
    They also monitor and correct errors such as duplicate medical record numbers and insurance errors that delay claims processing. The Supervisor provides feedback, training, and identifies opportunities for process improvement.


  • Minimum: Prior experience working in a medical office, overall knowledge and understanding of the revenue cycle and accounts receivable, familiarity with medical terminology including CPT and ICD10 coding, previous experience with cash collections and balancing, strong communication skills, and consistently accurate data entry. Preferred: Experience in supervision, training, process improvement, employee scheduling, conducting staff meetings, and participating in various committees or work groups. Experience in preparing and conducting employee evaluations, and at least three years of experience in Patient Access and/or Patient Financial Services.
  • Minimum: Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a complex, multi-entity, multi-cultural health system. Ability to manage projects, work well under pressure, meet deadlines, prioritize effectively, and promote teamwork through role modeling. Excellent leadership, interpersonal, written and oral communication, analytical, and organizational skills. Demonstrated ability to deal with the public in a professional and courteous manner. Computer literacy required, including proficiency in word processing, spreadsheets, and power point
  • Preferred: Experience with Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Knowledge of State and Federal Regulatory requirements and JCAHO standards. Bilingual capabilities.
