We are seeking a highly skilled Payroll Manager to join our international tier one automotive supplier in Troy, MI.

As the Payroll Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing payroll operations in North America. This includes ensuring timely and accurate payroll processing, resolving payroll-related issues, and collaborating with various departments such as Human Resources, Finance, and Accounting. In addition, you will eventually be expected to become the subject matter expert in SAP Payroll.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Manage and oversee payroll processing and distribution for all facilities in the US
• Accurately enter payroll data into the SAP Payroll application
• Track monthly insurance costs for facilities in the US
• Handle IRS and state payroll tax reporting, as well as deposits
• Facilitate the annual audits of the 401k program and Workers' Compensation
• Assist with the annual filing of IRS form 5500
• Help establish and maintain HR policies and procedures related to recruitment, benefits, and employee relations
• Ensure compliance with federal and state employment laws
• Expertise in taxable employee benefits, such as life insurance and relocation
• Assist with travel and expense report applications

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or related discipline
• Prior payroll management experience in a multi-plant environment
• Willingness to become an expert in SAP Payroll
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and advanced MS Excel skills

• Experience in payroll administration within a multi-plant setting
• Ability to effectively communicate with individuals at all levels
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Experience with tax filings for benefits and payroll
• Flexibility to work extended hours when necessary
• May require occasional travel
