Salary: $275,000 to $315,000 + Bonus + Signing Bonus + Relocation Assistance

We are seeking a passionate and experienced psychiatrist for the role of Director of the Fellowship Training Program in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. This position requires a minimum commitment of 40% effort towards the fellowship program, with responsibilities encompassing recruitment, curriculum development, and compliance with ACGME standards. The Director will also provide clinical services at the hospital's various sites.

Key Responsibilities

Program Leadership:

  • Lead and oversee the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship Training Program.
  • Design and implement a comprehensive recruiting and evaluation system for fellows.
  • Monitor and establish goals and objectives for the training program.
  • Ensure compliance with ACGME/Residency Review Committee standards.

Curriculum Development and Assessment:

  • Create and execute a robust curriculum evaluation system.
  • Assess trainee progress and competencies, providing constructive feedback and maintaining accurate records.
  • Establish and communicate policies and procedures for the training program.

Faculty Support and Development:

  • Evaluate and enhance faculty performance.
  • Provide professional development opportunities and guidance to faculty in their teaching and supervisory roles.

Collaboration and Compliance:

  • Chair the Education Policy Committee and Fellowship Admissions Sub-Committee.
  • Ensure adherence to institutional, ACGME, and Residency Review Committee standards.
  • Work collaboratively with other program directors to facilitate training programs.

Clinical Supervision and Education:

  • Provide direct clinical supervision and contribute to didactic and clinical conferences.
  • Teach and supervise residents and fellows, including lectures for medical students.

Clinical Responsibilities:

  • Offer consultation and liaison psychiatric services to patients in the Emergency Department and medical floors.
  • Deliver direct patient care at the outpatient clinic (once established).
  • Serve primarily adolescent and child patients, with some adult cases.

Qualifications:

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) with completed ACGME or AOA accredited residency in psychiatry and accredited fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry.
  • Eligible for unrestricted medical license in Pennsylvania.
  • Prior experience as program director or associate training director is highly desirable.
  • Eligible for appointment to the faculty at least at the level of Assistant Professor.
  • Excellent interpersonal, clinical, and team-building skills.
  • Proficient in multiple psychotherapeutic approaches.
  • Research experience preferred.
