PEO Benefits Professional
The position of PEO Benefits Administrator is based in Santa Ana, CA and involves overseeing the administration and day-to-day activities of all the master benefit programs provided by Optimum. These programs include group health, dental, vision, short-term and long-term disability, life insurance, flexible spending plans (FSA), health savings accounts (HSA), voluntary programs, and employee assistance program.
Key responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to:
▪ Setting up new benefit plans for clients.
▪ Handling enrollments for various benefit plans such as medical, dental, vision, supplemental plans, and pet insurance.
▪ Managing enrollments for qualifying life events.
▪ Documenting employee benefit information into the HRIS database.
▪ Recording HSA contributions in the benefit software.
▪ Managing benefit adjustments.
▪ Conducting discrimination testing for the Client Premium Only Plan (POP).
▪ Updating Optimum's benefit forms on an annual basis.
▪ Addressing inquiries regarding benefit eligibility, coverage amounts, and claims procedures from employees, supervisors, and vendors.
▪ Ensuring prompt response to employee inquiries and complaints to facilitate timely resolutions.
▪ Assisting with the monthly enrollment of new eligible employees.
▪ Conducting benefits orientation during open enrollment periods at the time of client renewal.
▪ Leading open enrollment meetings for new clients during the conversion process.
▪ Acting as a liaison for clients to provide benefit overviews and handle plan amendments.
▪ Providing employees and employers with necessary forms and documents related to health and welfare.
▪ Distributing materials such as summary plan descriptions and benefit pricing.
▪ Updating employee payroll records for benefits reconciliations as required.
▪ Preparing for Optimum's yearly electronic open enrollment for the master medical plan.
o Updating premiums in the HRIS system for the upcoming benefit year.
▪ Assisting clients in ACA planning.
▪ Setting up new benefit plans for clients.
