Job Summary - Pharmacy Specialist

Home Infusion Facility in Suffolk, VA seeks candidate with Pharmacy background.

The Pharmacy Specialist will play a key role in overseeing pharmacy operations and providing clinical pharmacy services to consumers and referral sources. Responsibilities include evaluating prescriber orders, compounding sterile preparations, and safely dispensing medications, supplies, and administration equipment. In addition, the Pharmacy Specialist will supervise pharmacy support personnel and implement quality control and performance improvement procedures. This position reports directly to the pharmacy owner(s).

Qualifications

• Required: Active license as a pharmacist in good standing with the Board of Pharmacy in Suffolk, VA
• Required: Strong communication and interpersonal skills with employees, referral sources, physicians, and consumers
• Preferred: Minimum of three (3) years of clinical experience
• Preferred: At least one (1) year of experience with infusion therapy and sterile compounding
• Preferred: Completion of sterile compounding training

Preferred: Experience in managing pharmacy support personnel
