Summary
The role of IVIG Non-Dispensing Site Manager - Pharmacy Director in Plano, TX involves overseeing the daily operations, compliance with regulations, program planning, resource management, and quality improvement of the pharmacy. The Pharmacy Director also provides training, coaching, and performance feedback to the pharmacy team, while ensuring staffing and scheduling align with business objectives.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:
- Supervising staff at the non-dispensing site, including pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, intake team members, and ancillary staff.
- Maintaining operational cohesiveness, readiness, and direction of the team.
- Collaborating with the pharmacy leadership team to coordinate activities in the Plano office and support the overall pharmacy mission.
- Assisting pharmacists with clinical and business-related tasks.
- Attending internal meetings and pharmacy-related conferences.
- Traveling to the Nash location as required and other pharmacy sites as necessary.
- Participating in recruitment and hiring of new personnel.
- Assisting in the development and implementation of pharmacy staff competencies.
- Conducting performance reviews of pharmacy personnel on an annual basis.
- Orienting and training pharmacy, operations, and other organizational employees.
- Participating in branch management and inter-departmental meetings.
- Coordinating and leading site meetings when needed.
- Preparing and submitting management reports.
- Contributing to the development of the branch budget for pharmacy operations.
- Guiding the pharmacy towards achieving monthly, quarterly, and annual projections based on financial and management objectives.
- Maintaining effective channels of authority and communication throughout the organization.
- Being available for on-call duty and providing coverage as required.
- Undertaking special tasks or projects as assigned.
- Assisting in the development, updating, and implementation of policies and procedures.
- Obtaining pharmacist licenses in other states as necessary for facility licensing.
- Providing oversight and guidance on clinical decision-making, clinical operations, and technical expertise related to URAC/ACHC accreditation and Board of pharmacy requirements.
- Identifying and resolving recurring issues that impact key metrics of the team.
- Exhibiting leadership skills to plan, direct, coordinate, and improve service delivery to customers.
- Serving as the PIC (Pharmacist in Charge) for the pharmacy and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and laws.
- Assessing pharmacy's compliance with operational regulatory requirements and assisting in inspection preparations.
- Assisting in the assessment and optimization of pharmacy workflows for resource efficiency.
- Collaborating with all departments to process urgent or high-touch prescriptions in the facility.
- Assigning and monitoring workload, and providing scheduling assistance for optimal coverage.
- Promoting best practices through teamwork and knowledge sharing.
- Being the point of escalation for complex customer issues and ensuring timely resolution.
- Providing high-quality services to home-care patients and referral sources.
- Representing the company in a professional manner.
- Performing any other assigned duties.
Qualification Requirements
The qualifications needed for this role include:
- Exceptional professionalism, responsiveness, and communication skills to build and maintain a strong customer base.
- Strong knowledge of specialty home infusion pharmacy.
- Preferred knowledge of immune globulin.
- Supervisory/management experience in a specialty or home infusion pharmacy.
- Effective planning and problem-solving abilities.

- Ability to multitask and adapt to changing priorities.

Education and/or Experience
- R.Ph. or Doctor of Pharmacy degree.
- Current, unrestricted Pharmacist license in Texas or willingness to obtain it within 90 days of hire.
- Qualifications for clinical oversight in the services provided.
- At least 3 years of management experience in specialty or home infusion pharmacy.
Physical Demands
The physical demands of this job include talking, hearing, standing, walking, sitting, climbing stairs, using hands for manipulation, and reaching with hands and arms. The employee may need to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment
This job operates in a clerical office setting using standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.
