  • This specific position will be staffed in the REHAB unit.
  • Location: Lake Placid, NY (Home of the 1980 Winter Olympics).
  1. Our physical therapy staff members play a crucial role in ensuring the health and well-being of our residents by providing comprehensive and high-quality therapy services.
  2. A valid state-specific license for physical therapy is mandatory.

Responsibilities:

  • Take the initiative to administer skilled physical therapy treatments as per physician's orders and maintain necessary contact with the physician.

  • Ensure accurate documentation of evaluations, progress notes, and discharge summaries for residents participating in the physical therapy program.

  • Collaborate with other healthcare staff to address the specific needs of residents to enhance their rehabilitation or function maintenance.

  • Contribute to the Resident Care Planning meetings and attend them in the absence of the Director of Physical Therapy.

  • Maintain statistical records of residents' treatments.

  • Participate in in-service training programs when requested.

  • Record and update the resident's plan of care in the Inter-disciplinary Kardex.

  • Submit requisitions for supplies required in resident treatment to the Director of Physical Therapy.

  • In the Director of Physical Therapy's absence, assume all duties, including supervising Physical Therapy Aides and handling necessary documentation.

Qualifications:

  • Graduation from an approved school of physical therapy is required.
  • Hold a valid state license to practice physical therapy.
  • New Physical Therapy Graduates are Welcome.
  • Preference for candidates with at least two years of experience in physical therapy.
  • Interest in providing physical therapy treatment programs to the geriatric and subacute populations.
  • Ability to provide direction to others is necessary.
