Physical Therapist Assistant, PTA - Full Time

A Physical Therapist Assistant is responsible for implementing various aspects of patient care and interventions with technical proficiency. They provide guidance and support to patients during exercise routines, identify individual requirements, and deliver compassionate and understanding care. Additionally, they contribute to treatment planning, maintain patient progress records, and stay updated with the latest research in the field. Their role is crucial in aiding patients throughout their rehabilitation journey.

Description:
The Physical Therapist Assistant assists patients in completing their treatment plan by administering manual physical exercises. They provide instruction, encouragement, and assistance with non-manual exercises, functional activities, and daily living tasks. They also offer supportive and quality care utilizing assistive devices. The PTA evaluates and interprets evaluations and test results, and collaborates with physicians to determine physical therapy treatment plans. The PTA is responsible for accurately documenting patient care services in compliance with legal and professional requirements, staying informed about existing and new legislation, and advising management on necessary actions. Your responsibilities will include:

• Visiting home health orthopedic patients for follow-up visits
• Maintaining eligibility requirements for home health services
• Aiding patients in using supportive devices such as crutches, canes, and prostheses
• Instructing and counseling patients by explaining therapeutic regimens, providing information on normal growth and development, and promoting wellness and health maintenance
• Maintaining a safe and clean working environment by adhering to procedures, rules, regulations, and infection-control policies and protocols
• Monitoring current treatment trends and ensuring that actual physical therapy services align with production objectives
• Driving is a required aspect of the position

• Completion of an accredited Assistant Therapy Assistant Program

• Hold a valid state license for physical therapist assistant

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in home health as a physical therapist assistant

• Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and a caring nature

• A valid driver's license and a clean driving record
