Physical Therapist Assistant, PTA - Full Time

A Physical Therapist Assistant plays a crucial role in improving the mobility of patients. As a licensed professional, you will provide exercise instruction, show empathy, and document treatment outcomes. Your main responsibility will be assisting physical therapists in enhancing patients' physical abilities and overall well-being.

As a Physical Therapist Assistant, you will administer manual physical exercises and provide instruction, encouragement, and assistance with non-manual exercises, ambulatory functional activities, and daily-living activities. Additionally, you will apply assistive and supportive quality care to patients. Your role will involve assessing and interpreting evaluations and test results to determine treatment plans, following consultations with physicians. You will document patient care services by charting in patient and department records, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local legal and professional requirements. You will also stay updated on existing and new legislation, anticipate future legislation, enforce adherence to requirements, and advise management on necessary actions. Your duties will include:

  • Performing follow-up visits for home health orthopedic patients
  • Maintaining eligibility requirements for home health services
  • Assisting patients in utilizing supportive devices like crutches, canes, and prostheses
  • Instructing and counseling patients by providing information about therapeutic regimens, normal growth and development, and promoting wellness and health maintenance
  • Maintaining a safe and clean working environment by following procedures, rules, and regulations, and adhering to infection-control policies and protocols
  • Evaluating treatment trends and monitoring physical therapy services to meet production objectives
  • Driving is a requirement

  • Completion of an accredited Assistant Therapy Assistant Program

  • Valid in-state licensure for the role

  • At least 1 year of home health experience as a Physical Therapist Assistant

  • Strong caring interpersonal skills

  • Valid Driver's license and a clean driving record
