A Physical Therapist Assistant is a licensed healthcare professional who works alongside a physical therapist in the Fort Worth, TX area to assist patients in improving their mobility and functional abilities. They provide hands-on treatment, support patients with therapeutic exercises, and aid in their recovery process.


Description:
The Physical Therapist Assistant plays a crucial role in helping patients achieve their treatment goals. This includes administering manual physical exercises, guiding and motivating patients in non-manual exercises, assisting with ambulatory functional activities, and supporting patients with daily living tasks. They also provide assistive and supportive care to patients. The PTA will assess and interpret evaluations and test results, determine physical therapy treatment plans in consultation with physicians, and maintain accurate documentation of patient care services in compliance with legal requirements. In addition, the PTA stays up to date with relevant legislation and advises management on necessary actions. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting follow-up visits to home health orthopedic patients
  • Ensuring that home health service eligibility requirements are met
  • Assisting patients in using supportive devices such as crutches, canes, and prostheses
  • Instructing and counseling patients by providing therapeutic regimens, growth and development information, and promoting wellness and health maintenance
  • Maintaining a safe and clean working environment by adhering to procedures, rules, regulations, and infection-control policies and protocols
  • Monitoring current treatment trends and ensuring that physical therapy services meet production objectives
  • Driving as required

Qualifications:
  • Graduation from an accredited Assistant Therapy Assistant Program

  • Valid in-state licensure

  • Minimum of 1 year of home health experience as a Physical Therapist Assistant

  • Strong interpersonal skills and a caring attitude

  • Valid driver's license and a clean driving record
