They also contribute to treatment planning, maintain accurate documentation of patient progress, and stay updated with the latest advancements in the field. Description:
A Physical Therapist Assistant supports patients in executing treatment plans and engaging in therapeutic activities. This involves administering manual physical exercises, providing instructions and assistance for non-manual exercises and daily activities, and applying supportive care. The PTA assesses and interprets evaluations and test results, collaborates with physicians to formulate physical therapy treatment plans, and ensures compliance with legal and professional requirements by documenting patient care services. In addition to this, some of your duties will include:

  • Conducting follow-up visits with orthopedic patients in home health settings
  • Continuously meeting eligibility requirements for home health services
  • Aiding patients in the use of supportive devices like crutches, canes, and prostheses
  • Instructing and counseling patients regarding therapeutic regimens, normal growth and development, and promoting wellness and health maintenance
  • Maintaining a safe and clean working environment by adhering to procedures, rules, and regulations, as well as infection-control policies and protocols
  • Monitoring physical therapy services provided to ensure they meet production objectives
  • Driving as and when necessary

Qualifications:
  • Successful completion of an accredited program for Physical Therapy Assistant

  • Must hold a valid in-state licensure

  • Minimum 1 year of home health experience as a Physical Therapist Assistant

  • Strong interpersonal skills with a caring approach

  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
