Physical Rehabilitation Specialist (PRS) Part-time to Full-time

We are currently seeking a highly skilled Physical Rehabilitation Specialist to join our team in Long Beach, CA. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in physical therapy and a passion for helping patients recover from injuries and chronic health conditions. This is a part-time to full-time position that offers flexibility and the opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of our patients.

As a Physical Rehabilitation Specialist, you will play a crucial role in helping patients regain their range of motion, manage their pain, and improve their overall quality of life. You will use a variety of techniques and therapies to assist patients in their recovery process, such as hands-on therapy, exercise programs, electrical stimulation, and more. Your expertise in physical therapy will be invaluable in guiding patients through their rehabilitation journey.


  • Review available patient information and evaluate its impact on treatment processes
  • Conduct thorough functional assessments of patients, considering their home/vocational needs
  • Develop personalized treatment plans based on patient needs and achievable goals
  • Comply with evaluation, treatment, and documentation guidelines and maintain accurate records
  • Instruct and supervise assistants in treatment procedures
  • Revise treatment plans as necessary throughout the rehabilitation process
  • Document the course of treatment in clear and concise discharge summaries
  • Orient patients to program services and potential risks during procedures
  • Collaborate with nursing staff, patients, and families to maximize functional abilities
  • Instruct patients and caregivers on exercises and procedures to continue at home
  • Assist in the referral process for additional services when needed
  • Attend and participate in rehabilitation team conferences and other department meetings
  • Participate in continuing education opportunities to maintain clinical competency
  • Contribute to the quality improvement process
  • Promote the programs and services of our facility within the community
  • Comply with regulatory and professional standards and guidelines
  • Provide feedback on clinical performance of assistants to the Rehab Manager
  • Adhere to facility policies and participate in quality improvement and safety programs
  • Perform other assigned duties to ensure quality care for patients
  • Understand reimbursement processes and allocate therapy resources efficiently
  • Demonstrate knowledge of relevant regulations and guidelines
  • Maintain a professional image and provide compassionate care to patients
  • Work independently and assist others when needed
  • Meet productivity expectations for the position


  • Bachelor/Masters of Science degree in Physical Therapy
  • Current license in the state of practice
  • Supervision, training, or experience in a similar setting preferred
  • Certification in specialized areas of physical therapy is a plus
  • Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Competency in applying physical therapy principles, methods, and equipment
  • Ability to assess patient needs and develop comprehensive care plans
  • Knowledge of accreditation standards and compliance requirements
  • Ability to perform physical tasks required for the job safely and effectively
