We are currently seeking a highly skilled Physical Therapist to join our team in Palos Verdes Estates, CA!!

As a Physical Therapist, your role will involve evaluating and treating residents under physician orders. You will utilize various therapeutic procedures to restore muscle strength, coordination, and body alignment, alleviate pain, and improve movement and function. Additionally, as part of the interdisciplinary team, you will provide support and information within the field of Physical Therapy.

Responsibilities:

  1. Review available resident information and assess its impact on the treatment process.
  2. Conduct a comprehensive functional assessment of each resident, including evaluating their home/vocational needs and equipment requirements.
  3. Create and implement individualized treatment plans based on resident needs and achievable functional goals.
  4. Ensure compliance with evaluation, treatment, and documentation guidelines, maintaining accurate and timely records.
  5. Instruct and closely supervise treatment procedures performed by Assistants.
  6. Record progress notes in resident records after each treatment session.
  7. Revise treatment plans as necessary throughout the process.
  8. Document treatment courses in clear and concise discharge summaries.
  9. Orient residents to program services and inform them of any potential risks during procedures.
  10. Maximize residents' use of functional abilities by collaborating with nursing staff, residents, and their families.
  11. Instruct residents and caregivers on exercise programs and therapeutic procedures for continued use at home.
  12. Assist in the referral process for additional services post-discharge and stay updated on community resources.
  13. Participate in rehabilitation team conferences and other department/facility meetings.
  14. Access continuing education opportunities to maintain clinical competency.
  15. Contribute to the quality improvement process.
  16. Promote our programs and services through interactions with the community.
  17. Adhere to regulatory and professional standards and guidelines.
  18. Provide feedback on the clinical performance of Assistants, as requested.
  19. Follow facility policies, procedures, quality improvement, and safety programs.
  20. Perform any other duties assigned to ensure quality care for residents.
  21. Understand reimbursement processes and allocate therapy resources accordingly.
  22. Demonstrate knowledge of relevant regulations and guidelines.
  23. Support our commitment to Compassionate Care and project a professional image.
  24. Work independently while recognizing situations that require supervision and offering assistance to others.
  25. Maintain expected productivity levels as discussed and agreed upon.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor/Masters of Science degree in Physical Therapy.
  2. Valid license in the state of practice.
  3. Supervision, training, and/or experience in a similar setting preferred.
  4. Certification, if applicable, in specialized areas of physical therapy.
  5. Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
  6. Competency in utilizing physical therapy principles, methods, materials, and equipment.
  7. Ability to assess residents' needs and develop comprehensive care plans.
  8. Knowledge of accreditation standards and compliance requirements.
  9. Able to perform physical tasks safely and for extended periods as required by the position.
