Physical Therapist - $15,000 Sign-on Bonus
  • Pay Rate Range: $44.01 - $66.02 / hour PLUS experience credit.

  • This position will be staffed specifically in the REHAB unit.
  • Location: Lake Placid, NY (Home of the 1980 Winter Olympics)
  1. Physical therapy staff members play a vital role in ensuring the health and well-being of residents through the provision of comprehensive and high-quality therapy services.
  2. A valid state-specific Physical Therapy license is required.

Responsibilities:

  • Initiates effective physical therapy treatments in accordance with orders from physicians; maintains regular communication with physicians as needed.

  • Keeps written evaluations, progress notes, and discharge summaries for residents in the physical therapy program.

  • Collaborates with other healthcare staff to address the unique needs of residents and enhance rehabilitation or maintenance of their physical functions.

  • Contributes to Resident Care Planning meetings and attends them in the absence of the Director of Physical Therapy.

  • Maintains accurate statistical records of residents' treatments.

  • Assists in conducting in-service training programs when required.

  • Documents and updates residents' plan of care in the Inter-disciplinary Kardex.

  • Places supply requisitions needed for the treatment of residents to the Director of Physical Therapy.

  • Assumes all duties of the Director of Physical Therapy during absences, including the supervision of Physical Therapy Aides and responsibility for all necessary documentation.

Qualifications:

  • Graduation from an approved physical therapy school is required.
  • A valid state license to practice physical therapy is required.
  • New PT Grads are Welcome.
  • Two years of experience in physical therapy is preferred.
  • Interest in physical therapy treatment programs for the geriatric and subacute populations is necessary.
  • Ability to provide direction to others is necessary.
