  • Location: Lake Placid, NY (Home of the 1980 Winter Olympics)
  1. Our physical therapy team members play a vital role in maintaining the health and well-being of residents through the delivery of comprehensive and high-quality therapy services.
  2. Must have a valid and state-specific Physical Therapy license.

Responsibilities:

  • Initiate and administer skilled physical therapy treatments as prescribed by physicians; maintain regular communication with physicians.

  • Keep written evaluations, progress notes, and discharge summaries for residents participating in the physical therapy program.

  • Collaborate with other healthcare staff to address special needs of residents in order to enhance rehabilitation or maintenance of function.

  • Contribute to the Resident Care Planning meetings and attend in the absence of the Director of Physical Therapy.

  • Maintain statistical records of residents' treatments.

  • Assist with in-service training programs upon request.

  • Record and update the resident's plan of care in the Interdisciplinary Kardex.

  • Submit requisition for needed supplies in the treatment of residents to the Director of Physical Therapy.

  • Assume all duties of the Director of Physical Therapy in their absence, including supervising Physical Therapy Aides and ensuring necessary documentation.

Qualifications:

  • Graduated from an approved school of physical therapy.
  • Valid state license to practice physical therapy.
  • New Physical Therapy graduates are welcome.
  • Preferably have two years of experience in physical therapy.
  • Must have an interest in physical therapy treatment programs for geriatric and subacute populations.
  • Ability to provide supervision and direction to others.
