Overall Job Summary:

Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Power Plant Engineer is responsible for overseeing the daily delivery of energy at the plant. Duties include managing schedules for energy distribution, analyzing performance criteria, ensuring compliance with agreements and guidelines, and assisting with troubleshooting and maintenance.

Primary Responsibilities:

Provide Energy Offtaker with a daily report on the plant's maximum output to assist with energy scheduling.

Review energy schedules and assist the Operations Manager in managing plant operations and unit statuses.

Ensure compliance with NERC standards and participate in compliance committee activities.

Oversee capacity tests and manage contract administration for the Power Purchase Agreement.

Track plant availability and identify operational and maintenance issues affecting performance goals.

Monitor control system performance and generation imbalance, ensuring compliance with operating guidelines.

Track thermodynamic performance and investigate operational issues, coordinating with maintenance.

Assist with special projects assigned by management and ensure regular attendance and valid driver's license.

Skills and Requirements:

Able to handle multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on business outcomes.

Excellent leadership and communication skills, both verbal and written.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree in Engineering with at least 6 years of experience in power generation and transmission systems, preferably with combined cycle or steam cycle plants. Demonstrated expertise in energy scheduling, plant performance improvement, and grid operation. Proven ability to find innovative solutions to enhance facility performance.
