Plant Environmental Manager

Currently seeking applicants for the position of Environmental Compliance Manager at a plant located in the southeastern region of Ohio near Huntington, WV. As the Environmental Compliance Manager, your responsibilities will include the implementation and monitoring of environmental programs and policies for the site. You will ensure compliance with government and environmental regulations, specifically from the EPA. Additionally, you will conduct employee training, respond to emergencies, investigate incidents, and suggest corrective actions. Your role will also involve providing technical expertise on environmental issues related to operations and equipment, as well as completing necessary reports as required by federal, state, and local governments.

  • Act as a subject matter expert to plant team members on environmental and regulatory matters, and actively participate in incident investigations and root cause failure analysis.


  • Hold a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, or a related field of study.
  • Have a minimum of 4 years of work experience analyzing environmental regulations in fields such as mining, construction, manufacturing, or related industries.
  • Possess experience with Title V air permitting.
  • Preference given to candidates with experience working with consent decrees.
  • Strong leadership skills and a proven track record in fostering a robust safety culture and ensuring environmental compliance are essential for this role. The ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to provide support to operations and maintenance, collaborate effectively to find solutions to problems.
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of environmental regulations and permits, including CAA, CWA, RCRA, DOT, EPCRA, and TRI.
  • Preferred certifications include EPA Opacity Reading, DOT, HAZWOPER, and ISO 14001.
