Plant (Operations) Manager – Shipping
Location: Lewiston Woodville, NC
Qualifications: A Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration/Management, Agriculture, or a related discipline with a minimum of 6 years of relevant work experience is required. In particular:
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in refrigerated shipping.
- Must have already attained the rank of Superintendent or above.
- Prior experience in leading a team of Supervisors and hourly employees.
- Ability to analyze and resolve problems at both strategic and functional levels.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage with individuals at all levels of the organization.
- Familiarity with industry best practices, such as HACCP and SPC, and knowledge of plant efficiency measures including yield, lbs./birds, pmh, line speeds, and automatic process equipment.
The primary responsibility of this role is to provide effective leadership and supervision to ensure the achievement of production and quality targets in a safe working environment, fostering positive relationships with the production team. More specifically, the Plant Operations Supervisor - Shipping will:
- Develop, monitor, and be accountable for the shipping operation's operating and capital budgets.
- Implement strategies to reduce turnover and enhance safety performance, as measured by the Safety Scorecard, positioning the facility as the preferred employer in the region.
- Establish training programs to enhance the supervisory skills of the team and improve the skill set of hourly production associates, maximizing individual and collective performance.
- Continuously innovate and introduce new methods and ideas to optimize operational efficiency, enhance product quality, and strengthen customer satisfaction.
- Align with and promote the company's annual goals through effective planning and communication, emphasizing the importance of efficiency and effectiveness in all team members' roles and responsibilities.
