Poultry Sourcing Specialist

This position plays a vital role in maintaining our reputation for excellence and ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our expanding business.

Compensation for this Position:

• Performance-Based Incentives: Additional earnings based on performance and specified metrics.
• Relocation Assistance: Available on a case-by-case basis, but preference will be given to local candidates.

Your Responsibilities in this Role:

Poultry Purchasing & Supplier Relationships

• Manage the procurement of poultry, including whole birds and specific cuts, from processors, brokers, and suppliers.
• Establish and maintain strong, reliable relationships with vendors to ensure the availability of high-quality products at competitive prices.
• Monitor market trends, changes in prices, and fluctuations in the supply chain to make informed purchasing decisions.
• Collaborate with partners and occasionally utilize competitor resources to meet demand during challenging market conditions.

Market Development & Sales Collaboration

• Identify opportunities to redistribute excess products or creatively address market challenges.
• Work with the sales team to develop competitive pricing strategies that increase revenue and market share.
• Stay ahead of industry trends and customer demands to identify new growth opportunities and foster innovation.

Leadership & Coordination Responsibilities

• Serve as the main point of contact for all poultry sourcing decisions and strategies.
• Regularly communicate with stakeholders to provide updates on inventory, pricing, and market conditions.
• Ensure the smooth operation of day-to-day activities by addressing urgent needs and implementing efficient sourcing practices.

Requirements for this Position:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in supply chain management, procurement, or a related field.
• At least 4 years of experience in poultry purchasing roles, including sourcing from leading suppliers such as Tyson or Pilgrims.
• In-depth understanding of the poultry purchasing and supply chain, including knowledge of market trends, product specifications, and shelf-life management.
• Strong negotiation, communication, and organizational skills.
• Proactive approach to problem-solving and ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
