Power Engineer- Electrical Engineer

Power Engineer [ Electrical Engineer ]

Salary: $90,000 - $110,000.00 + Bonus

Our company, a leading Metal Manufacturer, is seeking a highly skilled and innovative Power Engineer [ Electrical Engineer ] to join our team in Pittsburgh, PA. As the Power Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the reliability and sustainability of our equipment. You will also serve as a technical resource to the operations team, leading process and product improvement efforts. Additionally, you will support manufacturing and maintenance through MDI process and continuous improvement initiatives, as well as troubleshoot technical problems and oversee expense and CAPX projects. Responsibilities include:

  • Analyzing equipment failure data to identify patterns and trends
  • Applying engineering principles to develop and implement countermeasures to prevent re-occurrence
  • Devising PM strategies and spare parts lists
  • Conducting root cause analysis to determine the underlying cause of problems on equipment
  • Developing and implementing new maintenance procedures and standard work for repair
  • Designing and implementing new procedures for monitoring and testing equipment
  • Finding new technologies and processes that can improve equipment performance and reliability
  • Collaborating with other departments to ensure that reliability is integrated into all aspects of the organization
  • Managing a variety of capital and non-capital projects as the Project Manager or Project Lead
  • Effectively communicating project expectations to team members and delegating tasks as needed
  • Scheduling contractors and managing day-to-day activities to complete projects on time
  • Improving equipment reliability and operation through analysis of data and experimental evaluation
  • Implementing plans to improve profitability by maximizing efficiency using Lean Manufacturing principles
  • Managing the coordination, implementation, and standardization of manufacturing process improvement and tooling
  • Performing work measurement studies, including time studies and process capability studies
  • Being involved with continuous improvement teams and ensuring safety in the manufacturing environment
  • Researching, justifying, designing, and implementing new processes, tooling, and equipment
  • Conducting procurement activities, including obtaining and evaluating bids
  • Designing countermeasures and engineering trials; verifying effectiveness of corrective actions
