Principal Antenna & Electromagnetic Engineer (JN-21350)

Job Description

We are in search of an experienced engineer specialized in antenna and electromagnetic design. The selected candidate will play a crucial role in the conceptualization, design, and implementation process for our clients. They will provide technical expertise and leadership to our engineering teams.

We are looking for someone who is highly knowledgeable in the design and development of cutting-edge antennas and RF systems for applications such as communication, navigation, and sensor technologies.

The candidate should have experience in designing innovative and unique antennas through simulation, prototyping, and testing. Additionally, expertise in designing RF transceivers, including waveform analysis, component selection, circuit design, and troubleshooting, is highly desired.

Responsibilities include:

Creating and analyzing system architectures for RF and EW systems. Conducting design, simulation, fabrication, integration, and testing processes. Evaluating customer requirements and limitations. Guiding design teams throughout the development cycle, including concept development and RF system design. Designing complex communication and navigation systems and overcoming challenges related to electrically small antennas. Maintaining effective communication with internal and external stakeholders and clients. Executing innovative research and development initiatives to expand our technical capabilities.

Requirements:

A Master's or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Applied Physics, or a related field is required, along with at least 12 years of relevant experience. Candidates with a Bachelor's degree and proven industry experience will also be considered.

An exceptional academic background or industry experience, as well as demonstrated expertise in electromagnetics and antenna design, analysis, simulation, testing, and debugging, are essential.

A strong foundation in the fundamentals of electrical engineering, including electromagnetics, antenna theory, communication theory, software-defined radio, and circuit theory is necessary.

Proficiency with tools such as HFSS, CST, Microwave Office, ADS FEKO, COMSOL, MATLAB/Simulink, Python, Mentor Graphics, or other equivalent PCB design tools is preferred.

Demonstrated problem-solving and analytical skills are required. The candidate must be highly self-motivated and thrive in a multidisciplinary team environment.

The candidate should possess the ability and willingness to contribute to business development, including writing proposals, white papers, and technical documents. They should also be capable of delivering technical presentations to both internal groups and external sponsors.

Furthermore, the candidate should be interested in mentoring and providing guidance to students and junior engineers.

This position requires working on-site in our labs and is not suitable for candidates seeking remote work.

Applicants selected for this position will be required to have an active US secret clearance, with a TS clearance preferred.
